The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is enlisting Girl Scouts to help promote emergency preparedness. DHS was created after 9/11 to take charge of airport and border security, natural disaster response, anti-terrorism efforts and a host of surveillance and security programs.

DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano announced the campaign in partnership with the Girl Scouts of the USA and in conjunction with DHS’s Citizen Corps program, which encourages public involvement in security and emergency planning efforts. (BizJournals)
